Laboratory Technician / Supervisor (food testing)

We have an opportunity for someone to work as a Laboratory Technician / Supervisor in our Food Safety & Sampling laboratory based at our Grantham Processing Plant.  

 The type of person we are looking for must have the following experience or attributes:

  • Possess either a Certificate, Diploma (or higher) in laboratory procedures
  • Reliable self-starter & highly organized
  • Knowledge or experience in food safety in the meat or food industry
  • Experience working in a food-based testing laboratory
  • High attention to detail with all data entry
  • Ability to supervise others
  • Process laboratory & production sample records accurately within the required timelines
  • Highly effective communication skills
  • Efficient in computer software systems and spreadsheet use and quickly able to obtain knowledge in this area 
  • Assist in producing daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • Be flexible with working hours 
  • Able to work either 5 days per week or on a roster system
  • Must be physically fit. Moving cartons (some in excess of 27kg) is a requirement of this job
  • Assist with other associated duties as and when required
